Free Contests
The Lucky’s contest is back to the $6,000 reset this month after 28 players hit perfect cards last week. Splitting the $18,000 rollover jackpot yielded a $642.85 payday for each.

The other freebies in town are at Cannery properties, Coast properties, and Poker Palace.

Leroy’s Contest at Hooters this Friday

This week’s match-up in the "Leroy’s Money Talks Invitational," broadcast from Hooters from 3 to 4 pm on Oct. 9, is Sal Selvaggio vs. Adam Meyer. The bombastic Meyer has stoked the fires for this match, declaring that he “should be the favorite.” Meanwhile, Fezzik notched a big 6-1 record last week to advance to the contest’s round of 8. The show will be broadcast live on KLAV AM 1230.

MNF at the Strip Clubs, Part 2

We checked out four new strip clubs (bolded) last Monday night, resulting in the following ratings of their MNF shindigs.

With the possible exception of Treasures at the top, none of these parties are blowing us away this year. Sapphire’s party is a big one in a packed room, but there’s a $20 admission fee. Not bad, given that you get three drinks and unlimited food from a good Italian buffet—in fact, it’s strong if you come hungry—but there’s no way to do this one for less than that $20. Velvet Lion and Cheetahs have good intentions and offer some decent deals—including a free Hawaiian buffet (that hadn’t arrived yet at game time) at Lion and free pizza and wings at Cheetahs—but they haven’t quite caught on yet. It’s interesting that Cheetahs is promoting hard for CFB, offering five beers for $16 or a pitcher and four shots for $15 on Thursdays and Saturdays. The best party to date is at Treasures, which offers $1 domestic beers till 6 pm, then five beers for $12 afterward. There’s also a free buffet that’s even better than Sapphire’s, and we’re told, dollar lap dances at halftime, labeled "slap dances" by Arnold Snyder for their brevity (and technique) in his book Topless Vegas. And one more thing about Treasures, we were waved in at the door without being asked for local ID, so it’s possible this deal is free to everyone, even out-of-towners (we’ll check and report). Why only a B+? Incredibly, it wasn’t hopping when we checked.

6. Gold Coast ($2 beers, $1 dogs, cash giveaways)
7. Treasures (see above)
8. Monte Carlo - The Pub ($3.50 draft, half-off on apps first half)
9. Rampart (50¢ dogs, beer – 5 bottles for $8)
10. Sahara - NASCAR Cafe ($3 beer, $1 dogs out in casino)

Boards are Hot

Finally, congrats to Fezzik and the primary game handicappers on the message boards. Not only have they been winning, but Fezzik’s releases have been moving lines, which is a powerful weapon if you’re on his side. Additionally, the volume and quality of posts continues to improve. We hope to add a “Thread of the Week” feature on this page by next weekend.
